The swords change hands through inheritance, theft or death, and their bearers tend to have sharpened teeth. The first to appear is Zabuza Momochi with the Kubikiribōchō; Kisame Hoshigaki arrives later with Samehada. Being a swordsman does not mean mastering all seven; the archive treats each sword separately.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-141","pos":141},{"h":"Six lost","t":"Over time, Kirigakure loses almost all the swords: their bearers desert, die or take them along. Only Hiramekarei remains in the village, in Chōjūrō's hands. Suigetsu Hōzuki wants to collect them all: his older brother, Mangetsu, was a prodigy able to master all seven. That is why his first stop with Sasuke is Zabuza's grave. That obsession follows Suigetsu through the whole series, though he never gathers more than one sword: the Kubikiribōchō, split in two and lost more than once.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-347","pos":347},{"h":"Revived in the war","t":"In the Fourth War, Kabuto uses the Impure World Reincarnation to revive the swordsmen of the previous generation: Zabuza, Mangetsu, Kushimaru, Jinin, Jinpachi, Ameyuri and Fuguki. Mangetsu opens the scroll with the swords and hands them out; Suigetsu explains what each one does. Zabuza regenerates his cleaver with his opponents' blood until Kakashi beats him and seals him alongside Haku. In the manga the revived swordsmen fall without long individual fights; the anime takes care of giving them battles of their own.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-524","pos":524},{"h":"Guy's father","t":"The group's past also touches Might Guy. Remembering his father, Guy reveals that Might Duy died opening the Eight Gates to protect him from the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, and took several of them with him. That story gives Guy the courage to open the Eighth Gate against Madara. What was a symbol of power for Kirigakure appears here from the other side: a fearsome group that a single man, determined to protect his son, managed to stop.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-668","pos":668},{"h":"The New Seven","t":"In the Boruto anime, the swords that had returned to Kirigakure are stolen by the New Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, led by Shizuma Hoshigaki, who wants to bring back the days of the “Bloody Mist”. Kagura, who carries that history too, tells the village's past. Boruto's team and Chōjūrō defeat them, and Shizuma ends up absorbed by Samehada. The sword that never left the village, Hiramekarei, is the one Kagura uses to face them, and the arc shows once again that swords do not make the swordsman.","lvl":2,"ep":"boruto-31","pos":701},{"h":"Swords on parole","t":"Later, the anime returns to the former New Seven. Some are released in a work program to reduce their sentences and receive their swords again for a mission. In that arc Kobanza steals Kabutowari to frame Kyohō, and then war breaks out with the Funato clan, in which Kagura dies. The arc closes the cycle: the swords stay tied to their bearers even as they change hands, and the village chooses to trust them rather than lock the swords in a vault forever.","lvl":2,"ep":"boruto-246","pos":758}],"characters":["zabuza","kisame","chojuro","mangetsu","suigetsu","ameyuri"],"related":["espadachines","kubikiribocho","samehada","hiramekarei","kirigakure"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 9–33 (Zabuza), 349–352 (Suigetsu) and 518–520 (the revived Swordsmen).","sources":[{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Naruto y Shippuden","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"}],"figures":[]}
