Kimimaro arrives as reinforcement for the Sound Four to carry off the container with Sasuke and, when Naruto surrounds him with clones, tears them apart wave after wave with his bone dance. Depictions of the technique are narrative and do not reflect real anatomy. Nor is it the same as the curse mark Orochimaru gave him: they are two different abilities.","pos":205},{"h":"The dances","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-212","t":"Kimimaro organizes his technique into dances with names of their own, each with a style of attack: a long bone sword, bones that sprout like spikes all over his body, a defense that makes him almost untouchable. Rock Lee faces him with the Drunken Fist, unpredictable even to Lee himself, and Kimimaro responds by making bones sprout from his whole body. When the alcohol wears off, Kimimaro overpowers Lee. The technique gives him attack and defense at once, but demands a body capable of sustaining it.","pos":212},{"h":"Against Gaara and the illness","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-217","t":"Gaara arrives to help Lee and crushes Kimimaro under tons of sand. Kimimaro survives thanks to his bones and the curse mark, moves to level two and prepares a bone drill that pierces Gaara's defense. His last resort is a forest of bones that sprouts from the ground and covers the whole area. But Kimimaro was gravely ill, and he dies mid-attack before reaching his opponents. The illness was the real limit: neither the mark nor the kekkei genkai could make up for it.","pos":217},{"h":"Kimimaro's legacy","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-585","t":"His memory weighs on the second part. Jūgo says Kimimaro was the only one who could calm him and, on learning he died for Sasuke, decides to follow him. Kabuto, who absorbs other people's abilities, comes to use the forest of bones, and in the war he summons Kimimaro with the Reanimation Jutsu along with the Sound Four to trap Sasuke and Itachi. Someone else using the technique does not make it a trait of curse mark users: it comes from Kimimaro's lineage and from Kabuto's experiments.","pos":585}],"characters":["kimimaro"],"related":["clan-kaguya","sello-maldito","chakra","kekkei-genkai"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 201–217: Kimimaro's abilities and limits.","sources":[{"title":"Kimimaro: combate y Shikotsumyaku","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime/naruto1/list/01_351"}],"figures":["<figure class=\"technique-figure\" data-illustration=\"shikotsumyaku\"><div class=\"illustration-art\"><svg class=\"technique-svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 460 240\" xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/2000/svg\" role=\"img\" aria-label=\"A stylized bone shape and a chakra line represent Kimimaro's ability without real anatomy.\"><rect width=\"460\" height=\"240\" rx=\"8\" fill=\"#151520\"/><path d=\"M0 60h460M0 120h460M0 180h460M115 0v240M230 0v240M345 0v240\" stroke=\"#b99bbd\" stroke-opacity=\".05\"/><circle cx=\"230\" cy=\"120\" r=\"102\" fill=\"#b99bbd\" fill-opacity=\".025\"/><g class=\"fx-art\"><g class=\"fx-actor\"><g transform=\"translate(83 121) scale(1)\" stroke=\"#c4cfbf\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><path d=\"m-8 19-6 20-9 12h12l12-22 6 21h12L8 20Z\" fill=\"#272b3c\"/><path d=\"m-12-10-11 8-7 20 7 4 10-17 4 8h18l4-8 9 17 7-4L20-2 10-10Z\" fill=\"#32374b\"/><path d=\"m-11-10 11 8 10-8-2 29H-8Z\" fill=\"#c4cfbf\" fill-opacity=\".3\"/><path d=\"M-8-30q7-8 16 0v13l-8 8-8-8Z\" fill=\"#ccb2a8\"/><path d=\"m-10-26-2-10 6 1 5-5 5 5 7-1 2 11-6-5-7 3-6-3Z\" fill=\"#222436\"/><path d=\"M-9-25H9\" stroke-width=\"3\"/><path d=\"m-4-20 2 0m5 0h2M-9 16H9m-25 28h7m15 0h8\" fill=\"none\" stroke-width=\"1.2\"/></g></g><path class=\"fx-arrow\" pathLength=\"1\" d=\"M150 115L236 115m-7.794228634059948 -4.499999999999999L236 115l-7.794228634059948 4.499999999999999\" fill=\"none\" stroke=\"#c4cfbf\" stroke-width=\"2\" stroke-linecap=\"round\"/><path d=\"M288 70q-20-11-26 8-4 13 12 18l57 47q-3 17 12 19 18 4 18-14 17-8 5-22-8-9-18-3l-53-43q4-19-7-10Z\" fill=\"#d7dbcf33\" stroke=\"#d7dbcf\" stroke-width=\"2\"/><text class=\"fx-label\" x=\"230\" y=\"219\" text-anchor=\"middle\" fill=\"#d6c6df\" font-size=\"12\" font-family=\"sans-serif\" letter-spacing=\"1\">KIMIMARO · LINEAGE ABILITY</text></g></svg><button class=\"illustration-open\" data-enlarge=\"shikotsumyaku\" aria-label=\"Enlarge illustration of Shikotsumyaku\"><span class=\"illustration-zoom\">Enlarge ↗</span></button></div><figcaption><strong data-title=\"Shikotsumyaku\">Shikotsumyaku · Original diagram</strong><span>Material and control of a fictional ability.
