Wrapped in bandages it looks like a club; uncovered, it shows sharp scales that do not cut but shave and tear. Its real power is something else: it absorbs chakra. Kisame introduces it against Asuma and Kurenai, Guy drives him off, and at the inn where they look for Naruto he shaves away much of the boy's chakra with it while Itachi deals with Sasuke. Jiraiya arrives just in time.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-146","pos":146},{"h":"Alive and choosy","t":"Samehada is alive: it moves, eats chakra and chooses whom it serves. It does not obey just anyone: its spikes can reject whoever wields it. Against Killer B it absorbs every one of the jinchūriki's attacks, and Kisame even fuses with it to become a shark-man who heals with stolen chakra. But the sword loves B's chakra and switches sides mid-fight. B recovers with it and, with the Raikage, beheads Kisame. Absorbing chakra does not make it invincible against techniques that do not depend on chakra.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-473","pos":473},{"h":"Kisame hidden inside","t":"B returns to Kumogakure with Samehada without knowing that Kisame is still alive, hidden inside the sword, spying. Naruto senses him once he masters control of the Nine-Tails' chakra, and Kisame tries to flee with the information. Guy defeats him and Aoba searches his memories: Kisame had been the executioner of his own comrades in Kirigakure and had killed Fuguki Suikazan, Samehada's previous bearer, on the village's orders. Before revealing any secrets, Kisame lets his sharks devour him.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-508","pos":508},{"h":"Killer B's sword","t":"In the war, Samehada fights on B's side. It likes his chakra, which according to B himself “tastes like octopus”, hates fire chakra and keeps five of B's ordinary swords inside its body while he uses it. It absorbs enemy techniques and passes chakra to its bearer when needed. The change of owner was not a theft: the sword decided whom to stay with, and its story shows that the weapon chooses too.","lvl":1},{"h":"Shizuma and Samehada's end","t":"In the Boruto anime, Shizuma Hoshigaki, from the same clan as Kisame, leads the New Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and takes Samehada for himself. The sword never fully accepts him: when Shizuma tries to force it to gain more power, Samehada ends up absorbing him completely. That ending reinforces the usual rule: Samehada does not serve whoever claims it, but whoever it chooses. Samehada's story begins with Fuguki, passes through Kisame and B, and ends, at least in the anime, devouring the one who tried to master it.","lvl":2,"ep":"boruto-31","pos":701}],"characters":["kisame","fuguki","killer-b"],"related":["espadachines","siete-espadas","hoshigaki","akatsuki"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 142–147 (Kisame in Konoha), 505–507 (Killer B and Samehada).","sources":[{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Naruto y Shippuden","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"}],"figures":[]}
