They are not six Uzumaki who awakened the same eye.","facts":[["Controlador","Nagato"],["Medio","Chakra receivers"],["Ojos","Rinnegan originally Madara's"]],"lvl":1,"sections":[{"h":"Several bodies with the same eyes","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-380","t":"When Jiraiya slips into Amegakure, the village's leader appears as a shinobi with the ringed eyes of the Rinnegan. As the fight goes on, other bodies with the same eyes and the same piercings show up, and it becomes clear they share their vision: what one sees, they all see, so they cover each other's blind spots. Jiraiya manages to bring down three, and then the complete Six Paths appear, each with a different look. Among them he recognizes Yahiko's face, one of the orphans he trained years before, which throws him even more. The technique works as a coordinated whole, not as six natural awakenings of the same eye.","pos":380},{"h":"What each Path does","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-432","t":"Each body concentrates one of the Rinnegan's functions. The Deva Path attracts and repels with an invisible force; the Asura uses a mechanized body full of weapons; the Human reads its victim's mind and tears out their soul; the Animal summons enormous creatures; the Preta absorbs chakra and chakra-based techniques; and the Naraka summons the King of Hell to interrogate and restore the other damaged bodies. During the attack on Konoha, Kakashi, Konohamaru, Naruto and other ninja learn these functions by facing them, and Konohamaru even defeats the Naraka on his own. Splitting up the functions gives versatility, but it also leaves each body with a limited role.","pos":432},{"h":"The rods and the hidden controller","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-436","t":"The bodies have black rods driven into their flesh. Shizune studies one recovered after Jiraiya's death and discovers that they receive chakra sent from elsewhere; the message Jiraiya left carved on Fukasaku's back, once decoded, says that the real one is not among them. From that, Konoha deduces that someone hidden is transmitting chakra and directing the six. During the invasion, Inoichi analyzes that transmission network and estimates that the sender needs a high point close to the village. Coordination therefore depends on the controller and the reach of his chakra: if the signal is cut or his location found, the group loses its advantage.","pos":436},{"h":"Almighty Push, Planetary Devastation and the interval","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-442","t":"The Deva Path holds the most striking technique: Almighty Push repels everything around it and, on a large scale, flattens all of Konoha. Chōza and Kakashi had already noticed that a pause of a few seconds is needed between one repulsion and the next, and in the final duel against Naruto that window proves decisive. Before that, the Deva unleashes Planetary Devastation, a sphere that pulls in rocks and locks Naruto in a giant prison. Both techniques consume huge amounts of chakra, and the great Almighty Push forces a recharge before fighting on. Naruto exploits precisely that interval to defeat the last body and uses one of its rods to trace the source of the chakra.","pos":442},{"h":"Nagato behind Pain","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-447","t":"Following the signal, Naruto reaches Nagato, Jiraiya's former student, emaciated and connected to a structure that lets him send chakra over a distance. The six bodies are corpses of ninja he fought, including Yahiko's, and Pain is the name he gives the whole. Nagato tells his story: he wandered as an orphan during the war, Konan and Yahiko rescued him, they trained with Jiraiya, and Yahiko's death led him to seek peace through pain. The Rinnegan does not protect his body: controlling six at once leaves him weak, unable to move on his own and dependent on Konan.","pos":447},{"h":"Samsara of Heavenly Life and its price","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-449","t":"Persuaded by Naruto, Nagato decides to trust him and uses the Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life, the Six Paths technique that brings the dead back to life. He revives everyone who died in the invasion of Konoha, Kakashi among them, who returns after saying goodbye to his father. The cost is his own life: when he finishes, he dies, and Konan carries away his body and Yahiko's. The technique shows that the Rinnegan does not only destroy, but also that its greatest functions demand extreme wear. Its functions should not be confused with Amenotejikara, the swapping technique Sasuke gains with his own Rinnegan.","pos":449},{"h":"The Rinnegan's origin and its return in the war","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-658","t":"Later it is made clear that the Rinnegan did not awaken on its own in Nagato: Tobi claims to have pushed Yahiko along and to have given Nagato those eyes, and Obito's past shows his meeting with the three Amegakure orphans. Konan's fight also reveals that Nagato descended from the Uzumaki clan. In the war, Kabuto resurrects him with the Reanimation Jutsu, and Nagato uses the Paths' techniques in his own body again until Itachi seals him. Obito later replicates the Six Paths with resurrected jinchūriki, and Madara ends up recovering the Rinnegan that had been his.","pos":658}],"characters":["nagato","naruto"],"related":["rinnegan","chakra","uzumaki","amegakure"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 373–374 and 420–449 (Pain); 511 (ancestry), 606 and 658 (origin
