They hide blades, needles, poisons and compartments that open to trap the enemy. Everything depends on whoever handles them: preparation, chakra control and knowledge of the mechanism. The poison is a fictional device, and the article gives no real-world instructions. Kankurō shows the basic trick in the Chūnin Exam preliminaries: Misumi thinks he is strangling him, but what was under the wrappings was Crow, and the real Kankurō came out of the bundle he had been carrying.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-70","pos":70},{"h":"Kankurō in Part I","t":"Kankurō uses three puppets: Crow, Black Ant and Salamander. In the exam finals he forfeits against Shino so as not to reveal his puppet before the invasion, and the pending match happens anyway during the attack on Konoha: Kankurō sprays poison through Crow, but Shino's insects drain the chakra from his threads. His best moment comes in the pursuit of Sasuke: he traps Sakon and Ukon inside Black Ant, a hollow capsule-shaped puppet, and runs them through with Crow's blades slotted into it.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-214","pos":214},{"h":"Sasori and Hiruko","t":"Sasori, of the Akatsuki, is Suna's most feared puppeteer. He wrecks Kankurō's puppets and leaves him poisoned, with days to live, until Chiyo and Sakura cure him. Sasori fights hidden inside Hiruko, a hunched puppet he uses as armor, with a scorpion tail and poisoned needles. Secretly guided by Chiyo's threads, Sakura dodges his attacks and destroys Hiruko with one blow. Then Sasori emerges from the wreckage looking like a boy and brings out his favorite piece, the human puppet of the Third Kazekage.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-266","pos":266},{"h":"Human puppets","t":"The missing Third Kazekage was Sasori's handiwork: he turned him into a puppet that keeps his Iron Sand, with which he neutralizes Mother and Father, Sasori's first puppets, made in the image of his dead parents. Chiyo responds by using Sakura as a living puppet, adding her strength to Chiyo's reflexes. Then Sasori reveals that his own body is a puppet, brings out a hundred pieces against Chiyo's ten legendary ones, and falls when Mother and Father, moved by Chiyo, pierce the only living core he had kept.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-275","pos":275},{"h":"Sasori's legacy","t":"In the Fourth War Kabuto revives Sasori with the Impure World Reincarnation, and Kankurō faces him using puppets that had been Sasori's creations. He captures him with them and tells him what puppets mean to the one who makes them. Moved, Sasori entrusts his puppets to him before fading away. Chiyo, by contrast, is gone: she died bringing Gaara back to life.
