Its past of bloody exams and legendary swordsmen earned it the nickname “Village of the Bloody Mist”.","facts":[["País","Land of Water"],["Líder","Mizukage"],["Apodo","Village of the Bloody Mist"],["Especialidad","Water techniques, hiding in the mist, swordsmen"]],"lvl":0,"sections":[{"h":"The Village of the Bloody Mist","t":"Kirigakure stands in the Land of Water, a mist-shrouded archipelago that explains both its name and its fighting style: water techniques, hiding in the mist and silent assassination. During the Land of Waves arc, Kakashi says the village was known as the “Bloody Mist” because in its graduation exam the students had to kill each other. Zabuza Momochi, one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, slaughtered an entire graduating class when he was barely a boy, and later attempted a coup against the Mizukage before fleeing as a rogue ninja. His companion Haku, last heir of a clan with a kekkei genkai, suffered as a child the persecution the Land of Water unleashed against those bloodlines after its civil wars.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-32","pos":32},{"h":"A village of deserters","t":"The Mist produced several of Part I's most feared rogue ninja. Besides Zabuza, it gave rise to Kisame Hoshigaki, another of the Seven Swordsmen, who appears alongside Itachi Uchiha as an Akatsuki member carrying the sword Samehada. The village itself, by contrast, is barely shown at this stage: what is known about it comes through those deserters, Kakashi's accounts and the kind of tools they left behind, like Zabuza's gigantic Kubikiribōchō. That image of a closed, violent place in internal crisis is the one the story carries until, well into Part II, Kirigakure finally gets a face of its own.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-141","pos":141},{"h":"Mei Terumī and the Kage Summit","t":"In Shippūden the village is led by the Fifth Mizukage, Mei Terumī, who arrives at the summit in the Land of Iron escorted by Ao, a veteran with a grafted Byakugan, and Chōjūrō, the young swordsman of Hiramekarei. Mei commands two kekkei genkai, Lava Style and Boil Style, and uses them against Sasuke when he bursts into the meeting. There it is suggested that the previous Mizukage, Yagura, the Three-Tails' jinchūriki, may have acted under the manipulation of the Akatsuki's masked man, which would explain the village's darkest period. After Tobi's declaration of war, Mei agrees to join the Shinobi Alliance.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-473","pos":473},{"h":"The Mist in the Fourth Great Ninja War","t":"During the war, Kirigakure contributes troops to the Alliance and Mei takes charge of protecting the feudal lords. At the same time, much of its history returns as enemies: Kabuto uses the Impure World Reincarnation to revive the Seven Swordsmen, Zabuza and Haku among them; the Second Mizukage, Gengetsu Hōzuki, who fights Gaara and Ōnoki with his steam clone and clam genjutsu; and Yagura and Utakata, former jinchūriki of the Three- and Six-Tails. Later it is revealed that Obito massacred a group of Mist ninja during the previous war, on the day he saw Rin die.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-605","pos":605},{"h":"The era of Chōjūrō","t":"In the Boruto era, Chōjūrō is the Sixth Mizukage and the village has left its bloody period behind. The anime shows him during the Konoha Academy's school trip to Kirigakure: there Boruto meets Kagura Karatachi, Yagura's grandson and the Mizukage's bodyguard, and the group of new swordsmen led by Shizuma Hoshigaki, who attempts a coup to bring back the Mist's old ways. The crisis ends with Shizuma's defeat and Kagura's reconciliation with his role in the village. In the manga, Chōjūrō appears among the Kage who fight alongside Naruto against Momoshiki and Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki.","lvl":2,"ep":"boruto-31","pos":701},{"h":"The war against the Funato","t":"An anime-only arc turns Kirigakure into the stage of a naval conflict. The Funato clan, a seafaring people with chakra of their own, lays claim to rights over the Land of Water and clashes with the village. Kagura, now part of the new generation of swordsmen, fights alongside Boruto and his friends but dies in the battle, a heavy blow to both the Mizukage and Boruto. The conflict ends with the defeat of the most radical Funato and confirmation that Kirigakure still carries the conflicts its past left behind, even as it tries to resolve them differently.","lvl":2,"ep":"boruto-255","pos":758}],"characters":["zabuza","haku","kisame","mei","chojuro","ao","yagura","gengetsu","utakata","suigetsu","mangetsu","kagura","shizuma"],"related":["aldeas","konoha-aldea","suna","espadachines","siete-espadas","hozuki","hoshigaki","yuki","karatachi","funato","jinchuriki","yoton"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 9–33, 454–473, 522–568 and 605; Boruto (anime), episodes 25–32 and 233–255","sources":[{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Naruto y Shippuden","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"},{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Boruto","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"},{"title":"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations · Índice de capítulos","url":"https://www.viz.com/shonenjump/chapters/boruto"}],"figures":[]}
