{"id":"kamui","name":"Kamui","japanese":"神威","category":"techniques","subtitle":"Two eyes, one dimension.","summary":"A space-time ninjutsu of Obito's eyes, one of which is given to Kakashi.","facts":[["Origen","Obito's Mangekyō"],["Usuarios","Obito and Kakashi"]],"lvl":1,"sections":[{"h":"Kakashi's eye","t":"Kakashi debuts Kamui against Deidara: with his Mangekyō he creates a distortion at a distance that tears off his rival's arm and carries it away. Later he uses it to send away the explosion with which Deidara tries to take everyone with him, and afterward he is left exhausted, unable to move. Kakashi's Kamui works at range: it sends whatever lies within the area he focuses on to another dimension. At first he struggles to aim it and it uses a huge amount of chakra.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-278","pos":278},{"h":"At the limit of his strength","t":"During Pain's assault, Kakashi uses the last of his strength to save Chōji with Kamui: he sends away the projectile that was about to kill him, and then he dies. Later, after recovering, he blocks an attack from Sasuke's Susanoo with Kamui on the summit's bridge. These uses show both its defensive value and its cost: every activation leaves him weak and forces him to ration his chakra carefully. It should not be confused with the Body Flicker: Kamui is not speed, it is dimensional transfer.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-484","pos":484},{"h":"The intangible masked man","t":"The Akatsuki's masked man lets attacks pass through him: Sasuke goes right through his body, and Konan, in her fight, discovers that this intangibility has a time limit. The technique sends the parts of his body that overlap with an attack to another dimension, which is why he has to materialize to strike or grab. Konan prepares a huge trap of explosive paper to take advantage of that moment. The masked man survives thanks to another Sharingan resource.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-510","pos":510},{"h":"A single dimension","t":"In the war, Naruto and Kakashi discover the connection: a kunai Kakashi throws with his Kamui appears in the masked man's dimension and cracks his mask. The two eyes share the same space. One works at range, the other transports its user and makes him intangible. That shared access allows coordinated attacks: Kakashi can send Naruto or a weapon straight to where the rival is taking refuge. The detail had been hinted at since the first use, but it is only explained here.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-597","pos":597},{"h":"Two eyes of the same friend","t":"When the mask falls, the masked man turns out to be Obito Uchiha, Kakashi's teammate who was believed dead. Both awakened the Mangekyō at the same moment, on witnessing Rin's death, and that is why each has an eye with access to the same dimension. Obito's Kamui is the one that transports and grants intangibility; Kakashi's is the one that works at range. The story of the two is bound to that shared technique.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-605","pos":605},{"h":"Final uses","t":"Kakashi and Obito end up fighting inside the Kamui dimension, where neither can escape without the other noticing. Later, Madara takes Kakashi's Sharingan, Naruto restores his eye and Kakashi loses access to the technique, although Obito later lends him both of his eyes for a moment. In the final fight against Kaguya, Obito uses his Kamui together with Sakura's chakra to travel through dimensions and rescue Sasuke. It is the last great use of a technique that connected the two friends throughout the series.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-689","pos":689}],"characters":["obito"],"related":["mangekyo","shunshin","chakra"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 276, 510 and 597–600.","sources":[{"title":"Obito: el Equipo Minato y el sueño perdido","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/news/01_1706"}],"figures":["<figure class=\"technique-figure\" data-illustration=\"kamui\"><div class=\"illustration-art\"><svg class=\"technique-svg\" viewBox=\"0 0 460 240\" xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/2000/svg\" role=\"img\" aria-label=\"A person beside an elliptical portal and another depiction inside a separate space show dimensional transport.\"><rect width=\"460\" height=\"240\" rx=\"8\" fill=\"#151520\"/><path d=\"M0 60h460M0 120h460M0 180h460M115 0v240M230 0v240M345 0v240\" stroke=\"#b99bbd\" stroke-opacity=\".05\"/><circle cx=\"230\" cy=\"120\" r=\"102\" fill=\"#b99bbd\" fill-opacity=\".025\"/><g class=\"fx-art\"><g class=\"fx-actor\"><g transform=\"translate(98 112) scale(1)\" stroke=\"#c5b8d0\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><path d=\"m-8 19-6 20-9 12h12l12-22 6 21h12L8 20Z\" fill=\"#272b3c\"/><path d=\"m-12-10-11 8-7 20 7 4 10-17 4 8h18l4-8 9 17 7-4L20-2 10-10Z\" fill=\"#32374b\"/><path d=\"m-11-10 11 8 10-8-2 29H-8Z\" fill=\"#c5b8d0\" fill-opacity=\".3\"/><path d=\"M-8-30q7-8 16 0v13l-8 8-8-8Z\" fill=\"#ccb2a8\"/><path d=\"m-10-26-2-10 6 1 5-5 5 5 7-1 2 11-6-5-7 3-6-3Z\" fill=\"#222436\"/><path d=\"M-9-25H9\" stroke-width=\"3\"/><path d=\"m-4-20 2 0m5 0h2M-9 16H9m-25 28h7m15 0h8\" fill=\"none\" stroke-width=\"1.2\"/></g></g><ellipse cx=\"171\" cy=\"114\" rx=\"32\" ry=\"70\" fill=\"#997dc520\"/><ellipse cx=\"171\" cy=\"114\" rx=\"24\" ry=\"66\" fill=\"#161324\" stroke=\"#b69ddc\" stroke-width=\"3\"/><path d=\"M170 55q42 43 0 60-26 16 0 51m0-101q-31 37 0 50 22 11 0 39m0-69q-18 25 0 31 15 7 0 26\" fill=\"none\" stroke=\"#b69ddc\" stroke-width=\"2\"/><path d=\"M204 59h167v114H204Z\" fill=\"#8d74b610\" stroke=\"#9e83c0\" stroke-dasharray=\"5 6\"/><path d=\"m204 59 33 20h134m-134 0v94m0-39h134m-134 21h134\" fill=\"none\" stroke=\"#8d74b644\"/><g class=\"fx-actor\"><g transform=\"translate(305 111) scale(1)\" stroke=\"#b69ddc\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\"><path d=\"m-8 19-6 20-9 12h12l12-22 6 21h12L8 20Z\" fill=\"#272b3c\"/><path d=\"m-12-10-11 8-7 20 7 4 10-17 4 8h18l4-8 9 17 7-4L20-2 10-10Z\" fill=\"#32374b\"/><path d=\"m-11-10 11 8 10-8-2 29H-8Z\" fill=\"#b69ddc\" fill-opacity=\".3\"/><path d=\"M-8-30q7-8 16 0v13l-8 8-8-8Z\" fill=\"#ccb2a8\"/><path d=\"m-10-26-2-10 6 1 5-5 5 5 7-1 2 11-6-5-7 3-6-3Z\" fill=\"#222436\"/><path d=\"M-9-25H9\" stroke-width=\"3\"/><path d=\"m-4-20 2 0m5 0h2M-9 16H9m-25 28h7m15 0h8\" fill=\"none\" stroke-width=\"1.2\"/></g></g><path class=\"fx-arrow\" pathLength=\"1\" d=\"M207 114L262 114m-7.794228634059948 -4.499999999999999L262 114l-7.794228634059948 4.499999999999999\" fill=\"none\" stroke=\"#b69ddc\" stroke-width=\"2\" stroke-linecap=\"round\"/><text class=\"fx-label\" x=\"116\" y=\"209\" text-anchor=\"middle\" fill=\"#d6c6df\" font-size=\"12\" font-family=\"sans-serif\" letter-spacing=\"1\">OUTSIDE SPACE</text><text class=\"fx-label\" x=\"302\" y=\"209\" text-anchor=\"middle\" fill=\"#d6c6df\" font-size=\"12\" font-family=\"sans-serif\" letter-spacing=\"1\">SHARED DIMENSION</text></g></svg><button class=\"illustration-open\" data-enlarge=\"kamui\" aria-label=\"Enlarge illustration of Kamui\"><span class=\"illustration-zoom\">Enlarge ↗</span></button></div><figcaption><strong data-title=\"Kamui\">Kamui · Original diagram</strong><span>Two eyes connect to the same dimension.
