In Part I they appear mostly as wounds in the adults' past: Tsunade lost her brother Nawaki and her partner Dan in the war, both of whom dreamed of becoming Hokage, which is why she distrusts the title. Postwar tensions also explain episodes like the Hyūga clan's, when Hizashi was handed over to Kumogakure to avoid a new conflict. War is the backdrop against which almost all of Naruto's teachers were formed.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-160","pos":160},{"h":"The Third Great War and the Kannabi Bridge","t":"Kakashi Gaiden shows the war up close. Newly promoted to jōnin, Kakashi leads a mission with Obito and Rin to destroy the Kannabi Bridge, an Iwagakure supply line, while his teacher Minato fights at the front and earns his fame as the Yellow Flash. The mission goes wrong when Rin is kidnapped, Kakashi loses an eye and Obito is crushed in a collapse, though not before giving him his Sharingan. The episode explains Kakashi's eye and his way of understanding teamwork.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-244","pos":244},{"h":"The first wars and their orphans","t":"Shippūden fills in the picture of the earlier wars. Danzō remembers how, in an ambush, Hiruzen volunteered as a decoy before he did and Tobirama named him his successor, a moment that fueled decades of rivalry. In Amegakure, after a battle, Jiraiya met three orphans, Nagato, Yahiko and Konan, after Hanzō had named Hiruzen's three students the Sannin. Nagato lost his parents to the war, and that experience lies at the root of everything he would do later.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-481","pos":481},{"h":"The Fourth Great War: fronts against Kabuto and Zetsu","t":"Tobi declares the Fourth Great War at the Kage Summit, and the five great villages form the Shinobi Alliance for the first time, with the Raikage in command and Gaara as field commander. Kabuto contributes an army revived with the Impure World Reincarnation and Tobi adds a hundred thousand White Zetsu. The fronts are split by division: Kakashi against the Seven Swordsmen, Darui against Kinkaku and Ginkaku, Team 10 against Asuma, Gaara against former Kage and the five Kage against Madara, while Naruto fights the revived jinchūriki. This phase ends when Itachi stops Kabuto and the Impure World Reincarnation is undone.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-591","pos":591},{"h":"Second phase: the Ten-Tails","t":"Without Kabuto's army, the war narrows to a single battlefield. The masked man reveals his face, revives the Ten-Tails and turns it on the Alliance. The phase costs important lives, such as Neji's, Shikaku's and Inoichi's, but it also brings everyone together: Naruto's clones share Kurama's chakra, Sasuke and the Hokage revived by Orochimaru join the fight, and Minato arrives in time. When the enemy becomes the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki, the entire Alliance takes part in the enormous tug-of-war that pulls the tailed beasts out of him.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-654","pos":654},{"h":"Final phase: Madara, Kaguya and the Valley of the End","t":"With the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki defeated, Black Zetsu forces Madara's resurrection. Guy opens the Eighth Gate to stop him, Naruto and Sasuke receive Hagoromo's power, but Madara casts the Infinite Tsukuyomi and traps almost the whole world. Black Zetsu then reveals his true goal: to resurrect Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Team 7 seals her with the help of Obito and Kakashi, and the war ends with the last fight between Naruto and Sasuke at the Valley of the End and the lifting of the illusion.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-699","pos":699},{"h":"The weight of war in Boruto","t":"Fifteen years later, the world lives in an unprecedented peace between villages, and the Fourth Great War is collective memory. The Boruto anime pays tribute to the fallen in an episode where Shikamaru and Ino remember their fathers, killed in the same attack during the war. The new generation grows up without having fought a war between nations, and part of the series' tension comes from that: the enemies are no longer rival villages, but threats like Kara and the Ōtsutsuki.","lvl":2,"ep":"boruto-178","pos":715}],"characters":["kakashi","obito","rin","minato","tsunade","dan","nawaki","hiruzen","tobirama","danzo","hanzo","nagato","gaara","kabuto","madara","shikaku","neji","kaguya-otsutsuki"],"related":["aldeas","akatsuki","edo-tensei","bijuu","jinchuriki","tsukuyomi-infinito","shinju","kara"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 102, 160–161, 239–244, 372, 445–446, 467–481, 488–699; Boruto, anime, episode 178.","sources":[{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Naruto y Shippuden","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"},{"title":"Kakashi: el Sharingan recibido y la enseñanza del Chidori","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/news/01_1903"},{"title":"Obito: el Equipo Minato y el sueño perdido","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/news/01_1706"},{"title":"Madara: infancia, Izuna y la fundación de Konoha","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/news/01_1663"},{"title":"Naruto y Pain: contexto para la historia de Nagato","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/news/01_1611"},{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Boruto","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"}],"figures":[]}
