Her weapon is a flute: with it she directs three summoned demons, the Doki, and casts genjutsu that enter through the ear. Shikamaru takes time to understand what controls the beasts until he sees that the orders match the melody. The effect depends on the opponent hearing it and on Tayuya's technique, not on the instrument alone, and if the opponent recognizes a melody she changes the sequence so it cannot be anticipated.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-203","pos":203},{"h":"Demons, spirits and genjutsu","t":"With another melody, the demons release spirits that chase Shikamaru and devour his chakra. He studies the notes, anticipates the orders and catches the Doki with his shadow. Tayuya dismisses them, gets caught in the shadow and moves to the second level of her curse mark to play a sound genjutsu that makes Shikamaru believe his body is falling apart. He breaks free by hurting a finger and catches her again with a kunai thrown as bait, but she resists the strangulation.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-209","pos":209},{"h":"The end of the melody","t":"Just as Tayuya is about to finish Shikamaru off, the Sand siblings arrive. Temari, a wind specialist, is the worst possible opponent for a technique that depends on sound and distance: with her fan she forces her back and then summons Kamatari, a sickle-wielding weasel that flattens the forest and crushes Tayuya. In the final attack, Temari's wind also snaps the flute in two. Breaking the flute cuts off the control: without the instrument, the demons stop obeying.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-214","pos":214},{"h":"The revived flute","t":"In the Fourth War Kabuto summons the Sound Four with the Impure World Reincarnation to trap Sasuke and Itachi. The original flute had been lost, so the one Tayuya uses is made from bone by a replica of Kimimaro. She paralyzes the Uchiha brothers with a sound genjutsu while her teammates raise the barrier. The anime also introduces Shiin, a subordinate of Kabuto's with a similar flute, and Tayuya's new flute later ends up in Naruto's hands.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-585","pos":585}],"characters":["tayuya"],"related":["genjutsu","orochimaru","invocaciones"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 203–216 (Shikamaru against Tayuya).","sources":[{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Naruto y Shippuden","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"}],"figures":[]}
