Enma turns into a black staff with golden ends, hard as diamond, which can lengthen, widen and multiply. It has a voice and will of its own: it talks to its summoner mid-fight, complains and gives opinions. It is not an ordinary weapon the Third Hokage keeps or an object handed down to other Hokage. Hiruzen fought with it through decades of wars, and that companionship is part of his fame as the God of Shinobi.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-120","ep":"naruto-71","pos":120},{"h":"Against Orochimaru","t":"In the invasion of Konoha, Hiruzen summons Enma to face Orochimaru inside the barrier. The staff blocks the Kusanagi and strikes at range by suddenly extending; even so, Enma complains that the Kusanagi hurts. When Orochimaru revives the First and Second Hokage with the Impure World Reincarnation, Enma multiplies into clones and forms a cage of staffs, the Adamantine Prison Wall, to hold back the Wood Style trees. It can also sprout claws or fangs from the staff to surprise an opponent. In the end, Hiruzen turns to the Reaper Death Seal to stop his former student, and the fight costs him his life.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-137","pos":137},{"h":"An old companion","t":"The relationship between Hiruzen and Enma is friendship, not master and weapon. Enma speaks to him familiarly and reproaches him for letting Orochimaru live years ago, when he was his student. That conversation, in the middle of the fight, is one of the first hints of how heavily that decision weighs on Hiruzen. In the anime, other memories expand the relationship: during the Nine-Tails' attack, the staff stretches so far it pushes the fox beyond the village limits. Enra, another monkey who can transform in a similar way, also appears in the anime.","lvl":0},{"h":"Trivia","t":"Enma is inspired by Sun Wukong, the Monkey King of the Chinese novel Journey to the West, who had an extending staff with golden ends, the Ruyi Jingu Bang, called “nyoi” in Japanese. The technique's name, Kongō Nyoi, joins that reference with “kongō”, the Buddhist vajra or diamond, a symbol of the indestructible. The same legend inspires Son Gokū, the Four-Tails, who is also a monkey and bears Sun Wukong's Japanese name. In a mobile game, Hiruzen even charges the staff with lightning chakra.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-570","pos":570}],"characters":["hiruzen","enma"],"related":["invocaciones","sarutobi","archivo-invocaciones"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 120–137 (Hiruzen against Orochimaru during the invasion of Konoha).","sources":[{"title":"Konohamaru y el legado de su abuelo Hiruzen","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime/naruto1/list/01_323"}],"figures":[]}
