Its Land of Rain is small and wedged between the great nations. In the Forest of Death, Shigure's team makes the mistake of crossing paths with Gaara, who crushes them with his sand in seconds in front of a terrified Konoha group. Another Rain team, Oboro's, attacks Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura with genjutsu and clones and is defeated thanks to Kabuto's intervention. Nothing at this stage hints at the importance the village will have later.","lvl":0,"ch":"naruto-63","pos":63},{"h":"Hanzō and the war orphans","t":"In Shippūden it is revealed that the Land of Rain was the usual battlefield of the great nations during the ninja wars. It was ruled by Hanzō of the Salamander, a ninja so formidable that he was the one who named Jiraiya, Tsunade and Orochimaru the “Sannin” after fighting them. In that same war, Jiraiya came across three Rain orphans, Nagato, Yahiko and Konan, and stayed for a while to train them. One of them had the Rinnegan. Those children, raised amid the poverty and violence of a country battered by other people's conflicts, would change the village's fate.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-374","pos":374},{"h":"Pain's village","t":"Years later, Jiraiya infiltrates Amegakure on the Akatsuki's trail. He discovers that Hanzō has been defeated and that the village is ruled by a figure its inhabitants worship as a god, “Pain”, accompanied by a paper angel. That god turns out to be his former student. The fight ends with Jiraiya's death, though he manages to leave a coded message on Fukasaku's back. Later, Nagato himself tells Naruto how it all began: Hanzō, allied with Danzō, took Konan hostage, Yahiko died sacrificing himself, and a broken Nagato became Pain and crushed Hanzō and his regime.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-447","pos":447},{"h":"After Pain","t":"After Nagato's death, Konan returns to Amegakure and promises Naruto that the village will support him. Soon after, she faces the Akatsuki's masked man alone to protect his legacy; that fight reveals he was behind Yahiko's death and the gift of the Rinnegan, and Konan dies. During the war, Hanzō returns through the Impure World Reincarnation and faces Mifune, the general of the Land of Iron, until he regains his old awareness and wounds himself with his own kusarigama so the poison paralyzes him and he can be sealed. Finally it is confirmed that Obito visited the village in his youth to meet Nagato, which ties the Rain's story to the origin of the Eye of the Moon Plan.","lvl":1,"ch":"naruto-606","pos":606}],"characters":["hanzo","nagato","yahiko","konan","jiraiya","mifune","obito","gaara","kabuto"],"related":["aldeas","konoha-aldea","suna","pain","papel","akatsuki","uzumaki","edo-tensei","bosque-de-la-muerte","uzushiogakure"],"reference":"Naruto, chapters 58–63, 366–383, 445–449, 508–511, 530–532 and 606","sources":[{"title":"Guía oficial de anime: Naruto y Shippuden","url":"https://naruto-official.com/en/anime"}],"figures":[]}
